PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS

 

Wheels In Motion

Bike Ride

For: Ages 5 & up

Enjoy a guided bike ride with the park interpreter on various bike trails to view different areas

of the park.  This program is designed for beginners of all ages and stops will be made throughout

the route to provide interpretation of certain areas. Bike helmets are required. 

(An adult must accompany children 12 and under.)

History Tour

of Estate Core

For: Ages 8 and up

Join the park interpreter on a tour of the former Moseley Family estate to view the house sites,

gardens, and farm complex area, and to talk about their historic significance.

(An adult must accompany children 12 and under.)

Evening Stroll

For: Ages 5 & up

Tuesdays each week, join the park interpreter for a slow paced leisurely walk to view different areas of the park and experience various interpretations.  No Evening Stroll on Tuesday, July 29th.

(An adult must accompany children 12 and under.)

A Flash from the Past!

Slideshow

For: Ages 8 and up

Join the park interpreter for a slideshow of archival photos of the former Moseley Estate in the Maudslay Arts Center barn.  Popcorn and Beverages made available by the Maudslay Arts Center.

Donations are welcome!  (An adult must accompany children 12 and under.)

The interpreter will read a storybook and provide a simple craft to make based on natural resources in the park  (An adult must accompany children 12 and under.)

Planet & Stargazing

7:30 pm at park headquarters

For: Ages 5 & up

.  Join the North Shore Amateur Astronomy Club for a power point presentation about Constellations, Star Lore and Mythology. Then we will gather in the open field to observe the stars, the moon and other planets. The park interpreter has some fun activities planned too!  Please bring a blanket or folding chair to enjoy the nighttime sky.  All telescopes are welcome!

Open Air Outdoor

Sculpture Exhibit

 

September 13th - October 4th

Come & enjoy the autumn foliage and take a walk to view the sculptures on display

throughout the park. 

A reception and guided walk with some of the artists is on Saturday, September 20th

Tea at Two Tour!

For: Ages 8 and up

Essex National Heritage Commission “Trails and Sails” Event:

Join the park interpreter for tea and a history tour through the Formal Gardens to see the flowers in

bloom.  Additionally, a Garden Committee member will be on site to share knowledge of the plants

and shrubs grown there.
